Whether you are considering joining an upcoming trip, or presently a team member, or have a family member on a team, you will find this step-by-step guide informative and helpful.

​STEP 1 - CHOOSE A TRIP AND APPLY

  • Read about trips at ReachOurWorld.org.
  • Pray!
  • Select your trip at ReachOurWorld.org.
  • Click the “Trip Application” button.
  • Create your username and password.
  • Complete the application.
  • Wait to receive feedback or approval email.
  • Once your approval email is received, pay the application fee to secure your spot.

STEP 2 - APPLY FOR A PASSPORT

  • If you currently have a passport, check to make sure that the expiration date is at least six months after your trip dates and that you have at least three blank visa pages inside your passport.
  • If your passport is expired, please apply for a renewal by mail as soon as possible. Processing can take two to four weeks.
  • First-time passport applicants, go to travel.state.gov for requirements and paperwork needed. Please start this process as quickly as possible, as processing can take four to eight weeks.
  • Passports are required for all international travel and will be required prior to airline ticketing.

STEP 3 - CONNECT WITH YOUR TEAM LEADER

  • Your team leader contact information is inside the approval email.
  • Watch for team meeting notices.
  • Participate in all team meetings.

STEP 4 - CREATE A FUNDRAISING PLAN

  • Identify your fundraising goal.
  • Write the payment deadlines on your calendar.
  • Remember why you are excited to go on this trip. Write down these reasons to remind yourself.
  • Create your fundraising contact list.
  • Draft a fundraising letter/email.
  • Personalize your Managed Missions Public Profile.
  • Share your Public Profile on social media.
  • Communicate your fundraising plan with your contact list.
  • Create other fundraising events to meet your goal.
  • Review Step 7: Trip Payment Guidelines and Donations.

STEP 5 - SUBMIT REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  • Passport (International trips) – valid six months after trip dates
  • Church of the King Consent & Release Form*
  • Insurance Assignment Form*
  • Team Member Agreement
  • Additional paperwork may be required for some trips.
* These forms need both parents’ signatures and notarization for team members under 18.

STEP 6 - COMPLETE THE FOUR GROWTH TRACK STEPS

  • Attend Steps One through Four
  • Classes begin at 1pm each Sunday after church.
  • All team members must complete the Growth Track in order to go on a trip.
  • Visit ChurchoftheKing.com/growthtrack to register.

STEP 7 - REVIEW ALL TRIP COST INFORMATION

IS INCLUDED IN MY TRIP FEE?

  1. International round-trip airfare
  2. Trip insurance for emergencies
  3. All lodging at destination
  4. All meals at destination + bottled water
  5. All ground transportation at destination
  6. Visa application fee (if required)

WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED IN MY TRIP FEE?

  • Spending money, souvenirs, snacks,
  • airport meals, beverages, etc.
  • Optional activity fees
  • Transportation to/from airport (New Orleans)
  • Passport fees, photos for visas (if needed)
  • Vaccinations

STEP 8 - UNDERSTAND TRIP PAYMENTS AND DONATIONS

Suggestion: Personally go to ReachOurWorld.org and complete all the steps for online donations, and familiarize yourself with questions your sponsors may ask.

ONLINE DONATION: Encourage your supporters to follow these easy steps to donate online:

  • Go to ReachOurWorld.org or your Managed
  • Missions Public Profile
  • Locate the trip you are going on
  • Click the “Give/Donate” button
  • Login or create a new account
  • Select the name of the person giving the money
  • Select from the dropdown menus the amount of the donation and the team member name
  • The next page will ask for payment information and an email to send a transaction confirmation

DONATIONS BY CHECK:

  • All checks should be made payable to Church of the King
  • Write “Mission Trip” in the MEMO Section
  • Include a separate note with the team member name and trip name
  • Important: if the team member name appears in the MEMO section, the check will be returned to the sponsor for correction. Due to IRS Guidelines, we cannot accept checks with names in the MEMO section of the check.
