In 2012, we plan to continue to drill water wells in communities that have no access to clean water.  Clean water is the number 1 need of all people worldwide.  Our first goal in 2012 will be to provide clean drinking water for a large community in Southwest Ethiopia where famine and drought have taked countless lives for over 60 years.  There are over 50 million Ethiopians without clean drinking water.  We are responding to this crises by partnering with hopEthiopia to help resolve this great need by providing clean water for a community of thousands in Hubra-Chulule.

For our second water well project, we will be returning again this year to Southeast India to drill water wells that will help us reach new villages for Christ.

Thank you for your willingness to give generously to these water projects.  The wells we dig not only provide clean water as a source of life for thousands of people, they also provide great and wonderful opportunities to present the message of salvation through Jesus Christ to those who have never known Him.

Collect your coins and get ready to bring them (or a check) to services December 10/11 or December 17/18 and watch your change make a difference!  Please note that loose coins and bills will not be tax deductible.  Checks or online giving will be fully tax deductible.

Water Bottle Project

In 2010, Church of the King went to the city of Madurai in Southeast India.  While there, we saw some communities in desperate need of clean drinking water.  We partnered with Body of Christ Ministries in India and traveled to a remote village to dig a water well.  We drilled through 600 feet of solid rock and found no water. Reluctantly we decided to leave that village and traveled to a second village where we learned that two years prior a wealthy landowner dug a thousand foot well but never struck water.  The villagers cried out to their Hindu gods asking for water, but nothing ever happened! When our team arrived, we said that Jesus Christ would provide "living water.” We prayed over the site and started digging. Miraculously, we hit water at 175 feet! As a result, the entire second village received Jesus as their Savior and said, "We know your God is real and we want to follow Him!"

In the first village, for months Hindu leaders mocked Jesus because there was no water.  BUT GOD answered the believer’s prayers 6 months later.  Suddenly the well began GUSHING water for hours and hours!  Our Indian friends called and told us the story of the 5 brave Christians who lived in this village. They would slip away late at night and pray over the well asking The Lord to bring water.  The Lord answered their prayers causing pure water to spring forth from the limestone bedrock. More than just the well opened up that day, this miracle opened up the hearts of the people in the village.  35 people became Christians including the main Hindu leader who had been mocking the Christians saying, “where is your God? And If your God is all powerful why can’t he cause water to come out of a rock?” After the well overflowed with water, he came to church and said, “Now I know Jesus is real and I want to give my life to follow Him all the days of my life!” We dedicated that water well to God this past summer.
